The new course «Digital Transformation in EU Education: Research and Experience» engages students as part of the international project DigTriES, under the auspices of Erasmus+. As part of the international project «Digital Transformation in Education: Best EU Research» (DigTriES), which is part of the Erasmus+ initiative (Jean Monnet Module) with project number 10109900, a new academic course titled «Digital Transformation in EU Education: Research and Experience» has been launched. This course is designed to deeply immerse students in the theoretical aspects of digital transformation and introduce them to the best practices in the use of digital technologies in the European Union’s educational sector.
The course aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of the key aspects of digitalization in education, including creating conditions for the development of digital competencies, self-realization, and professional identity. Special attention is given to acquiring knowledge and skills in the field of artificial intelligence, which is being actively integrated into the modern educational environment.
The goal of the course is to prepare scientific and academic teaching staff for work in the context of global digital transformation. Course participants learn to use digital tools to work with younger school-age children, developing their digital competencies and enhancing the effectiveness of the educational process.
The course includes substantive modules:
- EU policy on digital transformation of education
- Digital competence of the modern citizen
- Teacher’s digital competence: professional engagement and digital resources
- Teacher’s digital competence: teaching and learning, assessment
- Teacher’s digital competence: empowering students, fostering students’ digital competence
Students who have joined this course have shown great interest and active participation in all proposed activities. The course opens new opportunities for the development of their professional competencies in the context of contemporary challenges and trends in education. Thanks to the active application of acquired knowledge, students have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to creating a digital educational environment, especially in working with younger school-age children. This course not only prepares future educators to effectively use digital tools but also promotes their ability to self-realize and professionally self-identify in a rapidly changing world.
